Who Are We?
TBPN Resources is the Tlou Group's petroleum products arm. It holds a wholesale licence issued by the Controller of Petroleum Products at the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, which permits it to trade in seven categories of petroleum product — from road and industrial fuels through to aviation fuels and biofuels.
A wholesale licence is not a formality. It is issued per company under the Petroleum Products Act, it names the products the holder may deal in, and it is the legal basis on which fuel can be bought and sold in bulk in South Africa. Buying from a licensed wholesaler is how a fleet, a farm, a mine or an airfield knows its supply chain is lawful and traceable.
Seven licensed product categories · issued 27 August 2021 under the Petroleum Products Act, 1977 (Act No. 120 of 1977).

Controller of Petroleum Products, Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, Republic of South Africa.
Held in terms of the Petroleum Products Act, 1977 (Act No. 120 of 1977) — the statute that governs who may manufacture, wholesale and retail petroleum products in South Africa.
Our Products
Road and industrial fuels, aviation fuels, and gas, illuminating and renewable products — each one named on the wholesale licence.
The two highest-volume products on the licence — the fuels that move fleets, plant and generators.
The workhorse fuel for freight, agriculture, mining, construction plant and standby generation.
Spark-ignition fuel for light commercial and passenger vehicles, and for small petrol-driven plant.
Both aviation grades are on the licence — turbine fuel for jets and turboprops, and leaded aviation gasoline for piston aircraft.
Kerosene-type turbine fuel for commercial, charter, cargo and rotary-wing operators.
High-octane fuel for piston-engine aircraft — general aviation, flight training and agricultural flying.
Household and commercial energy, and the renewable category that sits alongside the fossil fuels on the same licence.
LPG for cooking, heating and process work — household cylinders through to commercial and industrial installations.
Illuminating paraffin for domestic lighting, cooking and heating, and as a solvent and fuel in commercial use.
Renewable liquid fuels — the licensed category that lets the group serve clients working to lower the carbon intensity of their fleets and plant.
